Abstract

This paper using 110 year old black pine stand as an example analyses need and possibility to model optimum stand generation. Optimum stand condition is based on the relation between stand basal area and the area of canopy coverage. Results show the need of stand condition defi ning through numerical criteria based on the elements of the growth characteristics in stands, offering the possibility to conduct a unique managing procedure and their validation in order to provide optimum and steady production.
