Abstract

This research work included 125 year-old stands of Quercetum montanum illyricum subass. fraxinetosum orni and Quercetum montanum illyricum subass. typicum communities. The model of optimal stand condition was determined under the relation between basal area and the area of crown coverage. This relation was deployed to check the economical exploitation level of the area for the purpose of tree cultivation, in other words, deployed to define optimal stand coverage and to make various productive scenarios considering the optimal number of trees, defined volume and diameter.
